Currently on our kitchen table is the newly completed and quilted triangle table runner. It didn't take long and I love it. So bright and pretty on these grey mornings. The fabrics are all Martha Negley Market Mix collection and are the softest spring colors. I quilted it with a straight stitch 1/4 inch away from the seams on all sides of the triangles. I should have got a close up so you can see it more clearly. It makes a nice pattern on the back. I didn't use any batting but instead used two layers of flannel for the batting and the backing so it has some traction on the table. This was my first quilting project in ages and I am so glad I chose something small that I could finish quickly and feel the reward of completion.
I also finished an over-sized cowl for me which alas, I still need and have used every day since I finished it. I used Zen Yarn Garden for the first time (found at my local yarn store) and loved it. Squishy and soft and the colors are gorgeous. It is surprisingly lightweight and very easy to wear. I cast on 240 stitches and worked in the round on size 9 needles in two by two rib. It was a little boring to knit but perfect for t.v. watching. It just kept knitting round and round until I almost ran out of yarn then cast off very, very loosely.
I also have a WIP picture up of my first Geranium dress. It is finished now but I need photos. Oh, I have lots of good things to say about that dress but you've probably heard them all before. I'll talk more about the pattern when the pictures are taken.
Oh and I dyed my hair, you can maybe see it in the cowl picture. My hair was very grey and I didn't care but honestly I'd had enough of the chit chat about it and the frankly rude comments so I dyed it with this Lush henna and apart from the fact that it requires re-dying and looks and smells like a cow pat, it makes my hair feel great and is non-toxic. And so my daughter will have to be the strong one now.
