Winter is still with us for another week at least so this weekend we kept cozy in front of the fire and took the dog for a walk in the park. In the wooded part, there was a large frozen shallow pond, the kids played for ages until my son jumped a little too hard and water rolled over the top of his snow boots and into his socks. The dog ran off and ate something gross, which we will never speak of again. He came back to us and I gave him a bath, he hates them but he is so soft afterwards. He curled up on the armchair by the fire and I took this snapshot of him. I love it when he curls up so tightly like that, it's hard to see where he begins and ends.
About half an hour after reading this post I was making Banana Oat Blender Pancakes. I loved them, they had a surprising lightness about them. The littlest kid, poo-pooed them but the older one ate as many as he could.
I made a blackberry apple crumble (crisp). So good with a puddle of cream about it.
And then there were flapjacks. I love these sweet delights, all warm and gooey with some crunch from the oats and the taste of golden syrup which always reminds me of England. I've included the recipe up there from my mum. They couldn't be simpler. She recommends doubling up the recipe and so do I.
