Today was a half day at school. In the morning I stocked up on art supplies and baked an angry chicken Friday cake, orange flavored with chocolate chips and chocolate-orange frosting. I want to eat it now. So does Leonard.
Now the kids are home from school, they have decided to take the couch apart and play school. Because, obviously, half a day wasn't enough. My son is reading Calvin and Hobbs to my daughter, in front of the fire.
The roses I bought yesterday from the supermarket have bloomed into the most beautiful shades of peach and pink. It is hard not to look at them. We made some origami hearts, including some teeny tiny ones.
It is snowing very heavily, the kids have finished their favorite lunch of grilled cheese sandwiches. Andy has just come home and is shovelling our path.
It is time for some tea and cake.
Have a lovely weekend. xxx
