The cookies were a success, the photos don't quite capture the color but they are not at all lurid, a nice soft pink. They are now in the freezer and will get filled with the cream filling the day of, or maybe, before.
Leonard and I went for a nice long walk in the park yesterday for the first time in ages. It has just been too darn cold here but yesterday we were nearly at 30 degrees! Exciting stuff I tell you. The days are definitely longer, it is lighter when I wake up and lighter when we have dinner. The world is spinning and spring is coming.
More tinkering with the stamps for Valentine's Day. Blueberry Streusel muffins via Posie gets Cozy but I used blackberries because that's what I had.
I found a kit from Martha by Mail that I must have bought years ago. I am determined to embroider those cards and finish them. They look so pretty when they are finished. Do you remember Martha by Mail? I loved looking through those catalogs, in fact, I think one of the best things about moving to the US in those early years was finally being able to order from those catalogs. They had the best craft kits in them.
Acorn squash done this way. I love it cold and scattered on salads so I make a big batch and keep it in the fridge. I thought the kids would like it but not so much actually.
Lastly, parfaits for dessert tonight. Homemade peach butter from the summer, homemade yogurt and homemade granola.
Now I have to go and wrestle Leonard's new bed from him. He has already ripped a hole in it, little jerk. I need a better bed solution for him. Any ideas?
