There was banoffee pie from Home Made Winter and lots of snow. There was some sledding and some winter fort building. There was baking a mini jam tart with the left over dough, I always loved these the best when I was a kid, the extra dough always got made into jam tarts.
There was a toasty warm fire and some new beeswax candles that smelled so much like honey. There was a first sleepover, here. There were two excited girls, best friends from six months old, giggling their heads off at 7am.
There was fort building inside, a couch dismantled and dining room chairs seconded. There was a puppy who finally found the fun in snowy days but found it more fun to jump on couch forts.
There was yet another pot of summer jam finished and another one pulled from the freezer. When I am grumbling about making it in the summer, I will remember these little moments of joy.
There was fun, lots. There was a lovely weekend and now in the middle of this week, I am preparing for next weekend...a special one, with a birthday.
