This quilt doesn't look like much in these photos but I think it is one of my favorites yet. I used just two pieces of fabric. The front piece was my Christmas present from my mum and was two yards of this gorgeous Megumi Sakakibara print from Superbuzzy (though mine was in the red colorway which is now sold out). The back piece is Liberty Tana Lawn from my stash. The linen print was too beautiful to cut into so I left it whole and quilted randomly around some of the illustrations. The combination of soft fabrics and a lack of quilting makes this quilt so squishy and soft.
A quick note about Liberty fabrics. I use them as much as I can because I love them and of all the fabrics I own they never seem to get old. They really do have a timeless quality about them and they wash and wear so incredibly well, but they are expensive. Very expensive. I get around this in two ways. I only make things with them that I plan on keeping a long time or I know will get a lot of wear and secondly I use ebay. That whole timeless quality thing works really well here because I don't care how many seasons old they are, if I love them and the price is right, they are in. You can find some great buys on ebay especially if you buy larger pieces.
Here's a general ebay search for Liberty.
And here are two of my favorite ebay sellers: Little Shop of Treasures and KatsFabrics
